About Patricia

Patricia is 20 years old and lives in Vienna. On justBabyCake she writes about the things that fill her days: films, books, recipes, shopping and beauty finds, plus the occasional travel diary.

What she writes about

A personal blog with a little bit of everything, written in a warm, chatty voice.

  • Films and series — reviews and long chats about what she is watching, from 21 Jump Street and Türkisch für Anfänger to Gossip Girl and Prison Break.
  • Recipes — kitchen experiments such as the Watermelon Lemonade from August 2012.
  • Beauty and fashion — makeup reviews, product tests and shoe hauls.
  • Books and shopping — reading notes and the small purchases that made her week.
  • Travel — diaries from Dubai, Ireland, Cologne, London, Munich and Salzburg.

Behind the scenes

In March 2013 the blog joined the “Things about your life” project, hosted by Ina, with the theme “Behind the scene”. Patricia shared how a post comes together — starting with a look at the calendar, then the idea, then the photos.

There is a certain beauty in being the wallflower—the one who watches, listens, and absorbs the world before stepping into the light. This space was born from that quiet perspective, a corner of the internet where everyday moments are given room to breathe. Here, the focus falls on the small rituals that shape a life: the scent of a new candle, the feel of a well-worn book in hand, the satisfaction of a perfectly curated outfit. It is a gentle reminder that elegance often lives in the understated, and that following your own rhythm is the most authentic way to move through the world.

Travel has a way of reshaping how we see both the world and ourselves. Whether wandering through the winding streets of an old European city or discovering a hidden café in a bustling metropolis, each journey leaves behind stories worth telling. This blog captures those impressions—the quiet mornings in unfamiliar places, the local flavors that linger on the tongue, the golden light that falls differently in every corner of the globe. From the coast of Ireland to the sands of Dubai, every destination becomes a chapter in a larger narrative of curiosity and discovery.

Life is composed of layers, much like the pages of a favorite novel or the frames of a beloved film. This is a place for unpacking those layers—talking through the series that keep you up at night, the recipes that become weekly staples, and the beauty finds that genuinely earn a spot in your daily routine. There is no pressure to be an expert, only a willingness to share what resonates. The voice here is warm and conversational, the kind you might use when catching up with an old friend over coffee, trading recommendations and honest impressions without pretense.

Style is not about following rules but about expressing who you are in the quietest, most confident way possible. From hauls that reflect genuine discoveries to outfits pieced together with intention, this blog celebrates personal expression in all its forms. The approach is grounded in the idea that what you wear and how you present yourself is an extension of your inner world. Soft textures, neutral palettes, and timeless silhouettes often take center stage, but the real focus is always on the person behind the clothes—the wallflower who has plenty to say, if you take the time to listen.

The idea

A date or a season catches her eye, and a topic for the blog is born.

The inspiration
